Objectives
By implementing the project we want to achieve stronger neighbourhoods where marginalized students find meaning and hope in the face of global challenges through local activities based on STEAM learning and networking across formal and informal educational settings. The activities give the participants, students in particular, a stronger sense of meaning and hope. We also develop knowledge and methods that transcend the actual settings of the project and be implemented in different contexts.
Activities
The project implement activities on two levels.
EDUCATORS
the project implements a “training-the-trainer” model to equip educators with tools and skills for working with students on global challenges across formal and informal settings.
STUDENTS
students have the opportunity to develop their STEAM skills and become part of the local learning ecosystem, while engaging in meaningful activities addressing global social and environmental challenges in their local neighborhoods
Impact
We develop tools and methods that can be adapted and applied in diverse settings. These weave together formal and informal pedagogical perspectives and connect different agents within local learning ecosystems. Less tangible outcomes include new collaborative channels and strengthened learning ecosystems in the neighbourhoods where the project takes place. We also expect to impact the participants involved, strengthen their STEAM competences and giving them a stronger sense of meaning and hope.
